Comedy of Errors, Humor of Confusion: Response to Student Questions #3

Does it work in favour of the physical comedy of the play that the names of the two sets of twins are so similar and thus so easily interchangeable that they may cause confusion? Since confusion is the main element of comedy in the play and it could be even more so confusing when read rather than seen, is this a beneficial factor for the reading of the play?
