1551 John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland

This handsome fellow? John Dudley.

On this day in 1551, he was created the Duke of Northumberland, of only so that he could have a title fitting his position as the de facto head of state. Celebrate by giving yourself a title today suitable to your position. I’m considering Master Yeoman of the Library, Warder of the Forgotten Plays, Chief Constable of the Marshy Mind, Andrew Bretz.
