Today in 49 BCE, Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon river, breaking that last of the unbreakable “rules” of Republican Rome. Celebrate by doing something you can never take back.

It was the Legio XIII Gemina that Caesar led from Cisalpine Gaul down into the fertile area around Rome that had been considered long sacrosanct.
